“Via RinNolo” is an outcome of the Final Synthesis Studio 2022-23 (called Radical Transformations) by a team of students ( called "the plastics") of Product-Service System Design (PSSD), Polimi. The team worked closely with their innovation partners, Il Vespaio towards addressing the original design question, “How could a system of plastic packaging recovery, production, and distribution of recycled artefacts be organised on a neighbourhood scale in NoLo?” Our mission is reclaiming plastic materials by including forgotten members of society [homeless people] as central actors in our production process. On a neighbourhood scale, we will collect already used plastics and train homeless volunteers to sort and transform the raw material into portable storage solutions for their personal use and for retail products which keep the system going.

How it works
There are 2 dimensions to concept. The first is the environmental dimension where all (waste) plastics in the neighbourhood are considered to be resources towards producing portable storage solutions for the homeless. The second is the involvement of the homeless in the production of the portable storage units thereby generating employment for them
Waste Plastics at Nolo would be used for the production of portable Storage Solutions, therefore preventing them from entering into our oceans

Training & Educational Tutorials
Via RinoNolo's educational step by step tutorials provide a simple, easy to follow guide towards hard and soft plastic recovery and recycling. These tutorials have been developed carefully with the guidelines recommended by Precious Plastics (for hard plastics) and by other industry experts (for hard and soft plastics)
